The Eitorf Jewish cemetery is a Jewish cemetery in Eitorf , a municipality in the Rhein-Sieg district in southern North Rhine-Westphalia . In 1983 the Am Ersfeld cemetery was placed under monument protection and in 1988 it was added to the list of historical parks worthy of preservation. On November 2, 2008, a memorial stele was erected in the Jewish cemetery.

history

The dead of the Jewish community of Eitorf were initially buried in the Jewish cemetery in Geistingen . The Jewish cemetery in Eitorf was laid out in 1918 and donated by Jakob Simon. The founder and his wife Julie were the first to be buried in the 920 m² cemetery. Today there are still eight tombstones ( mazewot ).
