Jewish cemetery (Mondorf)
The Jewish cemetery Mondorf is a 1883 scale, since 1940, the last time used burial site in Mondorf , a modern suburb of Niederkassel in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). The cemetery is on Lerchenstrasse, near the Bergheim industrial park.
history
The cemetery was laid out in 1883 and is surrounded by a brick wall. Today's entrance on the east side is provided with a steel gate, which was designed in 1981 by the Cologne sculptor Rudolf Peer . It shows a menorah cut into the gate .
The cemetery has an area of 465 m² . Today there are still 46 tombstones ( mazewot ). The oldest tombstone is from 1891 and the last burial was on January 28, 1940.
