The Jewish cemetery Griedel is a cemetery in the Griedel district of the city of Butzbach in the Wetterau district in Hesse .

The 752 m² Jewish cemetery is located north of Griedel between the A 5 to the west and the B 488 . There are 38 tombstones . The oldest gravestone dates from 1854, the youngest from 1935.

history

The deceased of the Jewish community were first buried in the Grüningen cemetery. The cemetery in Griedel was laid out in the beginning or middle of the 19th century.

In 1931 the cemetery was desecrated : two tombstones were overturned and a third was stained.
