Jewish cemetery (Ober-Seemen)
The Jewish cemetery in Ober-Seemen , a district of Gedern in the Wetterau district in Hesse , was built in the 18th century. The Jewish cemetery , which is located right next to the municipal cemetery, is a protected cultural monument .
history
The cemetery of the Jewish community in Ober-Seemen consists of an old and a new part. The oldest gravestones from around 1760 are on the old part. The last burial in the cemetery took place in 1935.
There are still around 90 tombstones ( mazewot ) on the 29.04- acre cemetery . It was extensively repaired in autumn 2003.
