Jewish cemetery (Hartenfels)
The Jewish cemetery in Hartenfels , a local community in the Westerwaldkreis ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), was probably laid out in the first half of the 19th century. The cemetery was built outside the town center, but is now in a residential area. The Jewish cemetery is on Kurfürstenstrasse at the confluence with Hochstrasse. It is a protected cultural monument .
history
Until 1905, burials took place in the 8.05 acres large cemetery. The last funeral was Esther Weinberg, who died on April 19, 1905 in Hartenfels. Today 25 tombstones ( mazewot ) are still preserved in the cemetery.
