Jürgen Albert Junker

Jürgen Albert Junker (* 1969 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German banking and insurance manager and has been CEO of the financial services group Wüstenrot & Württembergische AG in Stuttgart since 2017 .

Career

Junker completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Dresdner Bank in Aschaffenburg from 1989 to 1991 . He then studied business administration at the Distance University in Hagen until 1997 with a degree in business administration . His work at Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt am Main , London and Tokyo was followed by an interlude of two years (2000, 2001) at Perot Systems in Frankfurt and Dallas . Thereafter, various activities at the VHV Group , where he has been head of the sales department , group investments and the focus on digitization in sales since 2007 .

Junker has been a member of the Executive Board since April 2016 and has been Chairman of the Executive Board of Wüstenrot & Württembergische AG since January 2017 . He then initiated the digitization of the financial services company's business model by creating a corresponding subsidiary, but also by introducing the digital insurance brand “Adam Riese” and the digital real estate finance advisor “Nist”. In September of that year he was elected to the Executive Committee of the German Insurance Association (GDV) together with Munich Re's CEO, Joachim Wenning .
