Jürgen Becher

Jürgen Franz Becher (born July 1, 1937 in Leipzig ) is a German economist and legal scholar .

Life

Jürgen Becher was born on July 1, 1937 in Leipzig. From 1943 he attended an elementary school there , from 1945 to an elementary school and from 1951 to the Rudolf Hildebrand Oberschule . He attended this high school until 1955, after which he went to Leipzig University to study law. He completed his studies in 1959 when he passed his legal state examination and became a qualified lawyer. Then he was a research assistant at the university .

In 1963, Becher received a dissertation from the university on economic and legal problems to improve building material planning in the GDR. Towards a new legal regulation of building materials accounting for Doctor of Law doctorate . In that year and the following, he headed the Marxism-Leninism department at the university. In 1964/1965 he was finally a senior research assistant in this department, where he was head of the political economy department. For this area he worked from 1965 to 1967 as a lecturer .

His habilitation in political economy took place in 1967; his work on this was problems related to state law when working with technical and economic indicators, illustrated using the example of product-related expense indicators in the construction industry. A contribution to the analysis of the relationships between technology, economy, state and law in socialism . He started working as a lecturer this year .

In 1969, Becher was promoted to full professor , became deputy research director of the Marxism-Leninism department and was admitted to the university's scientific council. In 1971 he was promoted to Dr. sc. jur. appointed. In 1976 he received the Labor Banner , Level 1.

In 1991, Becher had to give up the professorship, this was enforced by the Saxon Minister of Science. Nevertheless, he did not stay away from the university. In 1991 and 1992 he was deputy head of the chair for world economics and was senior research assistant. In addition, the Saxon Minister of Justice granted him the right to practice law. He was also a scientific advisory board member for political economy at higher education and technical schools in the GDR . He practiced his practice as a lawyer until 2001.
