Jürgen Buchwald
Jürgen Buchwald (born May 3, 1959 in Bremen ) is a German farmer , agricultural economist and political official . Since December 31, 2016, he has been State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
Life
Buchwald graduated from high school in Bremen in 1978 and subsequently trained as a farmer (1978–1980) before - after military service (1980–1981) - in 1981 he began studying agricultural science at the University of Göttingen . He completed this in 1988 and then became a research assistant at the Institute for Agricultural Economics at the University of Göttingen, where he worked until 1992. 1993 doctorate Buchenwald Dr. agr. sc. and became a consultant / head of department in the Ministry for Agriculture, Forests and Fisheries of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , before he became head of the ministerial office of Till Backhaus there in 1999 .

On December 31, 2016, Jürgen Buchwald was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania by Minister Till Backhaus and, in this position, became part of the Sellering III cabinet , headed by Prime Minister Erwin Sellering , as the successor to Peter Sanftleben . After Manuela Schwesig took over the post of Prime Minister , Buchwald became part of the Schwesig cabinet .
