Jürgen Ernstberger

Jürgen Ernstberger (* 1975 in Marktredwitz ) is a German economist and professor of business administration (BWL). Since October 2014 he has held the chair for accounting at the "TUM School of Management" at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

Life

Jürgen Ernstberger studied business administration at the University of Regensburg and at the Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen , Denmark from 1996 to 2001 .

He received his doctorate in 2004 with "summa cum laude" from Gerhard Scherrer at the University of Regensburg . His dissertation , published in 2004, was entitled "Measurement of Success and Assets According to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)" .

Jürgen Ernstberger completed his habilitation in 2009 with Axel Haller at the University of Regensburg.

He served from April 2009 to 30 September 2014 as Professor of Accounting , in particular auditing ( auditing ) at the Ruhr-University Bochum .

Jürgen Ernstberger has held the Chair of Accounting at the "TUM School of Management" at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) since October 2014 .

Research priorities

Jürgen Ernstberger's research interests are the effects of the introduction of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), enforcement of accounting, accounting and corporate governance , corporate social responsibility and financial instruments.

Awards

Jürgen Ernstberger received the following awards:

  • 2008: Best Paper Award of the annual congress of the European Accounting Association
  • 2010: Best Conference Paper Award of the 72nd Whitsun conference of the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration
  • 2011: Best Paper Award - International Accounting Section Midyear Conference, Tampa , 2011.
