Jürgen Hebert

Jürgen Hebert (born February 28, 1933 in Schwerin ; † December 7, 2008 there ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman, author and editor.

Life

Jürgen Hebert was the son of an architect. After attending school at the Goethe High School in Schwerin , he studied Protestant theology at the University of Rostock and from 1953 to 1956 at the University of Leipzig . From 1956 to 1969 he was pastor in Plate and organized the renovation of the churches of his parish in Plate, Consrade and Peckatel . In 1969 he received his doctorate as Dr. theol. by the University of Leipzig. From 1971 to 1985 he was pastor at Schwerin Cathedral and from 1985 to 1994 pastor at Anna Hospital (Schwerin) ; then was a pastor in the reconciliation church in Schwerin until retirement. Since 1991 he has been a part-time military chaplain for the Bundeswehr location in Schwerin. In 1998 he was elected chairman of the Mecklenburg social welfare organization.

In 1990, Hebert took over the publication of the study books on Mecklenburg church history from Werner Schnoor until the series was discontinued in 1995. He was a co-founder of the association Dorfkirchen in Not and a member of the editorial board of the Mecklenburg church newspaper . With the graphic artist Gesa Hansen he created a series of children's books about the figure of the weever .
