Jürgen Kindervater (born July 23, 1945 in Wernigerode ) is a German business manager .

biography

Kindervater was Head of Corporate Communications at Deutsche Telekom AG from 1990 to 2002 . Before that he worked for Loewe Opta GmbH as head of public relations and was editor-in-chief of the magazine " Funkschau ". Kindervater is the creator of the »T« and introduced the color magenta as part of Deutsche Telekom's corporate design . He was initially responsible for Deutsche Telekom's press work, corporate identity and advertising under the then CEO Helmut Ricke, and then under Ron Sommer , and has made a significant contribution to these. During this time, the development and implementation of the entire brand strategy, including the conversion of the Deutsche Bundespost division into a group, took place. He also established the company as a sponsor, for example in cycling ( Team Telekom ) and football (sponsorship contract with FC Bayern Munich ).

Critics accused children's father of having done more and more tasks in the Telekom group that had nothing to do with public relations. In negotiations and strategic planning, he is said to have been Ron Sommer's most important advisor, and internally he was considered the second CEO. In July 2002 he was replaced by Ulrich Lissek as head of communications and became head of the central division for sports marketing, content and brand management. On November 7, 2002, he left Deutsche Telekom, speculation about the manager's exit was already underway when CEO Ron Sommer announced his resignation.

In May 2006, Kindervater opened its own brand consulting agency called Brandoffice in Munich and works for companies such as REHAU and DeTeMedien .

He holds an honorary professorship at the University of the Arts Bremen , and he is an honorary member of the university.

He is married and has two children.
