Jürgen Ludwigs

Jürgen Ludwig (* 21st November 1936 in Worphausen , community Lilienthal , Osterholz ) is a German Low German - Author and educator . He lives and works in Lilienthal.

Life

Ludwigs grew up in Worphausen as the son of a village school teacher. After attending grammar school in Bremen , he studied at what was then the Bremen University of Education . In 1960 he became a teacher in the Borgfeld district of Bremen , but continued to live in Lilienthal, Lower Saxony . As the successor to Heinrich Schmidt-Barrien, he was chairman of the Plattdüütschen Krings in Bremen for many years .

Honors

  • 2008: Heinrich Schmidt Barrien Prize for maintaining the Low German language as an author of school books and for setting up curricula for teaching Low German in schools in Bremen.
  • 2014: Badge of Honor from the Lilienthal community
  • 2016: Medal of Merit of the FRG
