Jürgen Schöning

Jürgen Schöning (born March 1, 1944 in Gotenhafen , West Prussia ) is a German politician ( non-party ). From November 2009 to December 2010 he was Thuringian Minister for Federal and European Affairs and Head of the State Chancellery .

Life

After visiting the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium in Oldenburg / Holstein and graduating from high school in 1964, studied Schöning 1965-1969 in Kiel , Munich and Bochum law . In 1973, he received his doctorate from the Ruhr University in Bochum. jur. (Topic of the dissertation: "Legal effects of the technicalization of administration on the system of public law replacement services." ) This was followed from 1973 to 1974 by the legal preparatory service in the OLG district of Schleswig and the 2nd state legal examination. From 1974 onwards, Schöning held various positions in the administration of Schleswig-Holsteinactive, in 1983 he joined the state parliament administration. From 1988 until his retirement in February 2009, Jürgen Schöning was director of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament and thus representative of the state parliament president in the administration.

Nominated by the CDU , Schöning was Thuringian Minister for Federal and European Affairs and Head of the State Chancellery in the Lieberknecht Cabinet from November 2009 to December 2010 . He replaced Klaus Zeh , who was considered a confidante of the previous Prime Minister Dieter Althaus and was not taken into account when the new state government was formed. During a cabinet reshuffle in December 2010, he asked for his release and was replaced by Marion Walsmann .
