Jürgen Wagner (politician)

Jürgen Wagner (born September 19, 1934 in Bromberg , West Prussia ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1953, Wagner trained as a state-certified photo technician , then studied economics , German and journalism in Berlin and Munich . He then worked as a photo merchant, photo and film technician between 1956 and 1970. a. at the Institute for Aircraft Construction at the Technical University of Berlin . From 1957 to 1958 he studied camera and directing at DIFF Munich. From 1981 to 1989 he was a lecturer free of charge at the Free University of Berlin for the elective diving. From 1989 to 1991 he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Technical University of Berlin. From 1989 to 1991 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Staatliche Techniker-Schule Berlin, and from 1985 to 1991 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Staatliche Fachschule für Optik und Phototechnik Berlin.

In 1961 he joined the SPD and in 1965 became a member of the district executive in Berlin's Tempelhof district and in 1969 a state party congress delegate. In 1970 he became a full-time district secretary in Tempelhof. In the Berlin election in 1967 Wagner was in the Borough Assembly elected by Tempelhof. He was a member of it until 1985 and was deputy head of the district council from 1975 to 1985. In the 1985 election he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. In November 1994 he was only able to move up to parliament because Ingrid Holzhüter became a member of the Bundestag. A year later he finally resigned from the House of Representatives.

Until 1994 he was administrative director of the federal teaching and research facility of the German Life Saving Society (DLRG), Berlin, as well as chairman of the scientific / university committee at the SPD regional association in Berlin .

On January 5, 1983, he received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany from Federal President Karl Carstens .

Memberships

Wagner has been a member of the public services, transport and traffic union (ÖTV, today Ver.di ) and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO), the DLRG and the “Athletics Club Heros Berlin” (ACHB) since 1964 .
