Jürgen Wolter (judge)

Jürgen Wolter (born July 7, 1943 in Marienhof, Mecklenburg ) is a German lawyer and former judge at the Federal Labor Court .

Career

Wolter studied law in Berlin , Münster and Hamburg . After passing the Second State Examination in Law at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg , he worked as a research assistant or university assistant at the Department of Labor Law at the University of Hamburg. There he received his doctorate in 1978 with the dissertation “The protection of the employee against dismissal for operational reasons”. iur. PhD.

In 1985 Wolter joined the higher judicial service of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg, where he initially worked as a judge at the Hamburg Labor Court . From May 1989 to March 1994 he was seconded to the University of Hamburg for half a judge’s position, where he held a substitute professorship in labor law. Then Wolter was seconded to the Hamburg Regional Labor Court until October 1994 .

In 1999 Wolter was appointed judge at the Federal Labor Court, where he was assigned to the 4th Senate. At the end of July 2008, he retired due to age.
