Jacek Łukasiewicz
Jacek Łukasiewicz, actually Jacek Petelenz-Łukasiewicz (born June 21, 1934 in Lwów ), is a Polish poet and literary critic .
Life
During the German occupation of Poland he lived in the village of Sulistrowa near Krosno . After the Second World War in 1945 he moved with his family to Leszno and finished high school there. In 1951 he took up a degree in Polish Studies at the University of Breslau , where he obtained his master's degree in 1955 . During his studies he made his debut as a poet with Wiersze and as a literary critic with the article Artykuł czy paszkwil , both of which appeared in 1952 in the supplement W młodych oczach of the newspaper Słowo Powszechne . In addition to his studies, he worked from 1953 to 1956 as an editor for the newspaper Wrocławski Tygodnik Katolicki . In the 1960s and 1970s worked for the Wroclaw branch of the Polish Writers' Union. At the University of Wroclaw he began to work scientifically in 1971 and received his doctorate in 1972 with the work Niektróre motywy tradycji literackiej w liryce współczesnej (pejzaż, ciało, symbole przymiera) . After his doctorate he was employed as a research assistant . He was also an editor for the monthly magazine Odra from 1971 to 1976 . He completed his habilitation in 1980 with the thesis Mieczysław Jastruna spotkania w czasie and was employed as a lecturer in 1982. He was appointed professor at the University of Wrocław in 1991 and retired in 2004. From 2008 to 2014 he was chairman of the Wrocław Silesius Poetry Prize .
He lives in Breslau.
