Jack David Collison (born October 2, 1988 in Watford , England ) is a former Welsh football player . The midfielder is currently under contract with Ipswich Town and is also active for the Welsh national football team . He comes from the well-known West Ham United youth academy and can take up almost any position in midfield .

Career

As a teenager he played first at Peterborough United and then at Cambridge United . After the dissolution of the youth department of Cambridge United, he had to leave the club. At West Ham United he was initially offered a one-year scholarship. After he was able to convince, he was even captain of the West Ham reserve team in 2007/08. On January 1, 2008 he was able to celebrate his debut in the Premier League after a substitution .

For the 2008/09 season Jack Collison then signed a five-year contract with West Ham United. He was then able to complete some missions in the Premier League until it was announced on May 7, 2010 that he will undergo knee surgery, which is why he has to take a break of about nine months.
