Jack Deverell

Sir John Freeguard Jack Deverell KCB OBE (born April 27, 1945 ) is a retired British general . He was Commander in Chief Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum .

Military career

Jack Deverell completed his schooling at King Edwars's School in Bath and was from 1964 at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst . He entered the military in 1965 and served as an officer in the Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry . In 1984 he took command of a light infantry battalion with which he was deployed in Northern Ireland . In 1986 he began his studies at the Royal Military College of Science. In 1988 he became the commander of the British mobile forces. In 1991 he was appointed Head of Department in the United Kingdom Department of Defense and was in charge of military recruitment . In 1993 he moved to the post of Director General for Personnel Affairs within the Ministry of Defense. In 1995, he was employed as the school commander of the Sundhurst Military Academy. In 1997 he took over the post of Deputy Commander in Chief of the Land Forces and was also Inspector General of the Territorial Forces. In 1998 he was deputy commander of the operational deployment of the Stabilization Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina . His last use was from 2001 the Commander in Chief of the Allied Forces Northern Europe. Since his retirement he has been chairman of the National Armed Forces Museum in Chelsea .

Deverell has been married to Jane Ellen Solomon since 1973. They have a son and a daughter.
