Jackie Joseph (born November 7, 1933 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress .

Life

Jackie Joseph has been in front of the camera for film and television productions since the late 1950s. She took on her first major cinema role in 1960 in Roger Corman's cult B-movie film Kleiner Laden Full Schreck , in which she played the slightly stupid friend of the main actor Jonathan Haze . Smaller film roles and guest appearances in various television series followed. She had a recurring role between 1971 and 1973 on the Doris Day Show , in which she played Doris Day's friend Jackie Parker in a total of 44 episodes. In Joe Dante's horror comedy Gremlins - Little Monsters and the sequel Gremlins 2 - The Return of the Little Monsters Jackie Joseph took on the supporting role of Mrs. Futterman . In two Police Academy comedies she played Mrs. Kirkland , mother of Sgt. Kathleen Kirkland, played by Colleen Camp . Joseph has rarely been in front of the camera since the 1990s, most recently in 2019 for the Modern Family series .

Jackie Joseph was married to actor Ken Berry from 1960 to 1977 , with whom she adopted two children, John Kenneth and Jennifer Kate. She has been married to David Lawrence for the second time since 2003.
