Life

The son of Johann Vos and Jacoba Suzanna de Ruever had passed the ministerial exam and became a preacher in Ter Aa on January 5, 1744 . For this he was awarded the doctorate by the theological faculty of the Utrecht University on November 25, 1769, and on December 4, 1769, he took up the professorship assigned to him. In this capacity he also took part in the organizational tasks of the university and was rector of the Alma Mater in 1774/75 .

On January 20, 1794, he was out of his chair emeritus and 1795 he died of slow weakening of the body and mind.

Vos married Jakoba Maria Joncheere in 1761 and they had nine children, including the doctor and politician Cornelis Johannes Vos .
