Jacob Lindenskov

Jacob Lindenskov (born June 10, 1933 in Tórshavn , Faroe Islands , † August 18, 2018 in Tórshavn) was a Faroese insurance specialist and politician at Javnaðarflokkurin . He was a member of parliament in Løgting and a minister in several Faroese state governments .

Profession and Politics

Jacob Lindenskov completed a commercial training at a business school in Copenhagen in 1954 and worked in the insurance industry in the Faroe Islands until 1968.

He was elected to the Faroese Parliament (Løgting) for the first time in 1958 as a member of the Javnaðarflokkurin and stayed there until 1966. In 1970 he returned to parliament and was able to defend the seat until 1990. From 1984 to 1987 he was Løgtings chairman. Jacob Lindenskov was also a member of parliament for the Faroe Islands in the Danish Folketing from 1979 to 1984 .

Jacob Lindenskov also served as minister in several state governments for a period of 11 years. So from 1968 to 1970 as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health, Social Affairs and Industry in the state government Kristian Djurhuus III , from 1970 to 1975 as Minister for Labor, Social Affairs and Industry in the state government Atli Dam I and from 1975 to 1979 as Minister for Health , Industry and Justice in the State Government Atli Dam II .

Jacob Lindenskov's parents are Birita and Edvard Lindenskov from Tórshavn . He is married to Jóna (nee Jacobsen) from Fuglafjørður .
