The third state government with Kristian Djurhuus as prime minister at its head was the seventh government of the Faroe Islands after obtaining self-government through the Faroese autonomy law ( heimastýrislógin ) of March 1948.

The government existed from November 19, 1968 to December 12, 1970. It was a three-party coalition consisting of Sambandsflokkurin , Javnaðarflokkurin and Sjálvstýrisflokkurin .

Kristian Djurhuus from Sambandsflokkurin headed the government as Prime Minister. In addition, he was responsible for foreign affairs, finances and the like. Responsible for agriculture. Jacob Lindenskov vom Javnaðarflokkurin was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health, Social Affairs and Industry. Villi Sorensen from Javnaðarflokkurin was Minister for Transport and Fisheries and Sámal Petersen from Sjálvstýrisflokkurin was Minister for Local Affairs, Culture and Education.

When Villi Sorensen died on January 1, 1970, Atli Dam took over from Javnaðarflokkurin in March 1970.
