State government Kristian Djurhuus II
The second state government with Kristian Djurhuus as prime minister at its head was the third government of the Faroe Islands after obtaining internal self-government ( heimastýri ) in 1948.

The government existed from December 18, 1954 to January 9, 1959. It was a coalition of Sambandsflokkurin , Fólkaflokkurin and Sjálvstýrisflokkurin , led by Kristian Djurhuus from Sambandsflokkurin. Hákun Djurhuus vom Fólkaflokkurin was initially Deputy Prime Minister and Minister without Portfolio. The second minister, Edward Mitens vom Sjálvstýrisflokkurin, was also without portfolio.
In 1957, Hákun Djurhuus left the government and Óla Jákup Jensen from Fólkaflokkurin took over his duties.
The Klaksvík dispute , which made international headlines, also fell during the time of this government . During the hottest phase, the prime minister's house was shot at with a submachine gun, and a bomb was found in the deputy prime minister's house.
