State government Jógvan Sundstein I
The first state government headed by Jógvan Sundstein as prime minister was also the fourteenth government of the Faroe Islands after obtaining internal self-government ( heimastýri ) in 1948.
government
The government was formed on January 18, 1989 and lasted until June 22, 1989. It was composed of a four-way coalition of Fólkaflokkurin , Tjóðveldisflokkurin , Sjálvstýrisflokkurin and Kristiligi Fólkaflokkurin (KrFFF) (a quasi-predecessor of the Miðflokkurin ).
Jógvan Sundstein from Fólkaflokkurin headed the government as Prime Minister. In addition, he was also responsible for foreign and social affairs (legislation and pensions). Signar Hansen vom Tjóðveldisflokkurin was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Education and the Environment. At the beginning Kallsberg vom Fólkaflokkurin was Minister for Fisheries and Local Affairs, Finnbogi Ísakson vom Tjóðveldisflokkurin Minister for Finance, Economy and Radio & TV Media, Karl Heri Joensen from Sjálvstýrisflokkurin Minister for Health and Transport and finally Tordur Niclasen vom Kristiligi Fókkurin (Minister for Health and Transport without legislation and pensions).
The government collapsed just five months later when Lasse Klein vom Sjálvstýrisflokkurin announced on Tuesday, May 30, 1989 that his party had withdrawn from the coalition. Coalition negotiations began immediately, which three weeks later led to the formation of the Jógvan Sundstein II state government .
