Kristiligi Fólkaflokkurin

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kristiligi Fólkaflokkurin (actually Kristiligi Fólkaflokkin, Føroya Framburðs- og Fiskivinnuflokkur KrFFF ) was a Christian Democratic - conservative party in the Faroe Islands that dissolved after the 1998 parliamentary elections . The party had its headquarters in Klaksvík and carried the party letter F. However, this letter has been used since 2011 by the newly founded Framsókn party , which has a completely different program.

history

At the beginning of Kristiligi Fólkaflokkurin is Kjartan Mohr, who sat from 1954 to 1958 as an independent MP in Løgting , Faro . In 1955 a party called Framburðsflokkurin was founded , which first entered parliament in 1958 with Kjartan Mohr as the only member of the parliament. Before the election in 1978, the Framburðsflokkurin merged with the Fiskivinnuflokkurin to form the Framburðs- og Fiskivinnuflokkurin , which doubled the number of MPs from 1 to 2. In the 1984 election, the party took on as Kristiligi Fólkaflokkurin, Føroya Framburðs- og Fiskivinnuflokkur (KrFFF).

In 1986 part of the party split off and formed the Framsóknarflokkurin , a group that only ran once in a parliamentary election ( Løgtingswahl 1988 ) and was unsuccessful. This short-lived party has no relationship whatsoever with the Framsókn progressive party, which was founded in 2011 .

The KrFFF was represented in two government coalitions with a minister:

The state government of Hákun Djurhuu was supported by Framburðsflokkurin , but Kjartan Mohr was not given a ministerial post at the time.

The Kristiligi Fólkaflokkurin took from 1958 to 1998 at the Løgtingswahlen part. In the 1998 election the party lost both seats and subsequently disbanded.

The Miðflokkurin can be seen as the successor . Both parties competed in the Løgtings elections in 1994 and 1998, but there is great agreement in terms of program and personnel.

MPs

Kjartan Mohr, former mayor of Tórshavn and chairman of the Framburðsflokkurin , was the only Løgtings member of the party for twenty years from 1958 to 1978. After the merger in 1978, the party sent two members of parliament to Løgting, including Juul Jacobsen, Løgtings member of the Framburðs- og fiskivinnuflokkurin from 1978 to 1984, as well as Niels Pauli Danielsen (1988-1994) and Tordur Niclasen, who for the period 1984 to 1994 for the KrFFF had been elected to Løgting and left the party together with Jenis av Rana in 1992 to found Miðflokkurin.

After that, Jákup Olaf Olsen (father of Annika Olsen ) and Lasse Klein sat from 1994 to 1998 as the last member of the KrFFF in the Faroese parliament. Jákup Olsen then moved to Fólkaflokkurin .
