Provincial government Hákun Djurhuus
The state government headed by Hákun Djurhuus as prime minister was the fifth government of the Faroe Islands after obtaining internal self-government ( heimastýri ) in 1948.
government
The government existed from January 4, 1963 to January 12, 1967. It was a coalition of Fólkaflokkurin , Tjóðveldisflokkurin and Sjálvstýrisflokkurin , which was also supported in Parliament by Framburðsflokkurin .
Hákun Djurhuus from Fólkaflokkurin headed the government as Prime Minister. He was also Minister for Foreign Affairs, Health and Transport. Niels Winther Poulsen vom Sjálvstýrisflokkurin was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Affairs, Culture and Education. Erlendur Patursson from Tjóðveldisflokkurin was Minister for Finance, Fisheries and Justice and Karsten Hoydal from Tjóðveldisflokkurin was Minister for Industry and Agriculture.
Because all three coalition parties were striving for either complete self-government up to and including separation from Denmark or deep self-government, this governing coalition was also called self-government. It was the first Faroese government to have four ministers with fixed responsibilities.
