Wera Witaljewna Glagolewa ( Russian Ве́ра Вита́льевна Глаго́лева , English transcription Vera Vitalyevna Glagoleva ; born January 31, 1956 in Moscow ; †  August 16, 2017 in Baden-Baden ) was a Soviet / Russian theater and film actress , screenwriter and film director .

Life

Glagolewa studied at GITIS in Moscow. Her career as a film actress began in 1975 with the film To the End of the World , which her future husband Rodion Nakhapetov directed. In total, she has appeared in over 40 films as an actress. She made her debut as a director in 1990 with the film Broken Light ( Сломанный свет ).

2014 her film was Two Women on the play A Month in the Country by Ivan Turgenev in the Russian cinema. The film is a Russian-French co-production with a predominantly Russian cast and with Ralph Fiennes and Sylvie Testud and some Western Europeans in minor supporting roles. The film has only been shown at a few film festivals outside of Russia, such as the Honfleur Russian Film Festival in France, the Festival des Films de Russie et d'Ailleurs in Geneva or the Trieste Film Festival .

Her films, which have won several awards in Russia, did not come to the cinemas except for Ein Regenschirm für Verliebte in Germany, but were only shown at film festivals.

Glagolewa's first marriage was to actor and director Rodion Nakhapetov, with whom she has two daughters. A third daughter comes from her marriage to Kirill Schubski.

She died on August 16, 2017 after a long history of cancer.
