Jacob Rudolph Pauly (born March 11, 1850 in Cochem ; † August 28, 1919 there ) was a German businessman, winery owner and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Pauly attended the high school in Cochem and was the owner of a hardware store with a workshop. From 1896 he was a privateer and winery owner. He was also city councilor, member of the church council, the district council, district deputy and chairman of the supervisory board of the Cochemer Bank. When the war against France broke out, he volunteered and took part in the campaign as a one-year volunteer sergeant in the Kummer division. After taking the officer examination, he left the army as vice sergeant. He was awarded the war memorial from 1870/71 .

From 1909 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Koblenz 6 ( Adenau , Cochem , Zell ) and the German Center Party . Between 1915 and 1918 he was also a member of the Rhenish Provincial Parliament.

Jacob Rudolph Pauly (different spelling Pauli) was a son from the 2nd marriage (marriage around 1844) of Johann Josef Pauli (born March 3, 1804) and Eva, geb. Menzel. Since August 12, 1875 he was with Anna Maria, geb. Lenz (born April 8, 1857 in Cochem), daughter of Jakob Lenz and Margaretha, b. Michels, married. The couple had 3 children together, Jakob Rudolf (1877–1956), Josef (born December 10, 1879) and Maria Anna (born June 18, 1886).
