The Vælgerforening for Nordslesvig party was founded in 1888. Reimers was elected its chairman and held this office until 1907. He was chairman of the joint stock company that published the magazine Dybbøl-Posten . In 1896 he was accepted as an honorary member of the Association of War Veterans from the Schleswig Wars De danske Vaabenbrødre ( German  The Danish Brothers in Arms ), which had departments in Copenhagen and Kolding .
