Jacqueline Bracamontes
Jacqueline Bracamontes van Hoorde (born December 23, 1979 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ) is a Mexican actress and model who was elected Nuestra Belleza México (Miss Mexico) in 2001.
Life
Jacqueline Bracamontes is the eldest daughter of the Mexican soccer coach Jesús Bracamontes and his wife Jacqueline van Hoorde, a Mexican with Belgian roots. She has a sister named Alina and a brother named Jesús Junior.
During her school years, most of which she spent in Guadalajara, she spent a year abroad in Connecticut in high school to improve her English language skills. After finishing school in 1998, she spent a year in France to improve her French. She now speaks perfect French.
On her return from France, she completed a journalism degree at the Instituto Tecnólogico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) in her hometown of Guadalajara. During her studies she worked as a model and had various engagements on television.
The organizers of the Nuestra Belleza Jalisco (Miss Jalisco) beauty contest discovered her through one of her photos, which appeared on the cover of a magazine, and invited her to participate. She won the title straight away in 2000 and took part in the final for Nuestra Belleza México (Miss Mexico) 2001, which she also won. This qualified them to participate in the Miss Universe 2001 elections in Puerto Rico .
In 2002, she traveled to the World Cup on behalf of the Spanish-language US broadcaster Univisión, which belongs to the Televisa group , where she worked as a sports journalist. In the same year she started acting and has since worked in various telenovelas (television series).
