Jacques Dufilho (born February 19, 1914 in Bègles , † August 29, 2005 in Paris ) was a French actor .

Life

Jacques Dufilho had initially worked as a farmer and made his theater debut in 1939. After a short time he was also active in film. He was there "subscribed to weird, grim and bizarre-comical types".

Dufilho became known as the captain in Nosferatu - Phantom of the Night by Werner Herzog from 1978. Dufilho received several awards for his numerous supporting roles in around 100 films, including in Zazie in the Metro by Louis Malle , such as the coveted French film prize César . He has also appeared on stage in more than 15 plays.

Dufilho died at the age of 91.
