Jacques Landriault

Jacques Landriault (born September 23, 1921 in Alfred and Plantagenet ; † November 6, 2017 ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of Timmins and participant in the last three sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

Life

Jacques Landriault was ordained a priest on February 9, 1947 . In 1953 he was appointed Chancellor of the Diocese of Timmins.

Pope John XXIII appointed him on May 15, 1962 auxiliary bishop in Alexandria in Ontario and titular bishop of Cadi . The Apostolic Delegate in Canada , Archbishop Sebastiano Baggio , donated him episcopal ordination on July 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Rosario L. Brodeur , Bishop of Alexandria, Ontario, and Maxime Tessier , Bishop of Timmins.

On May 27, 1964 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed Bishop of Hearst and inducted into office on July 14, 1964. Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Timmins on March 24, 1971; until February 8, 1973 Landriault administered the Diocese of Hearst as diocesan administrator .

On December 13, 1990, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation for health reasons.
