Gilles Cazabon

Gilles Cazabon OMI (born April 5, 1933 in Sault Ste. Marie ) is a Canadian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint-Jérôme .

Life

Gilles Cazabon joined the Order of the Oblates (OMI) and was ordained a priest on June 11, 1960 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Timmins on March 13, 1992 . The Archbishop of Ottawa , Marcel André J. Gervais , donated him the episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Jacques Landriault , Bishop Emeritus of Timmins, and Henri Goudreault OMI, Bishop of Labrador City-Schefferville .

He was appointed Bishop of Saint-Jérôme on December 27, 1997, and was installed on February 20 of the following year. On July 3, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
