The Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint-Jérôme ( Latin Dioecesis Sancti Hieronymi Terraebonae , French Diocèse de Saint-Jérôme ) is in Canada situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Saint-Jérôme .
history
The diocese of Saint-Jérôme was founded on June 23, 1951 by Pope Pius XII. established with the Apostolic Constitution Ad catholicum from cessions of territory of the diocese of Mont-Laurier and the archbishopric of Montréal and Ottawa . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Montréal as a suffragan .
On June 1, 2020, Pope Francis decreed the unification of the Diocese of Saint-Jérôme in persona episcopi with the Diocese of Mont-Laurier.
