Jacques Planté (film producer)

Jacques Marie Henri Planté (born October 4, 1924 in Pau , † November 21, 1989 in Ecquevilly ) was a French chess player and film producer .

Life

Planté, who volunteered for the French army in 1944, studied law and literature after the Second World War and initially worked as a lawyer . However, he gave up the job to work as a film producer.

Planté was also a strong chess player. He played in the friendship match against the Soviet Union in the French team in 1954 and reached one of the two draws in the 1:15 defeat of his team against Isaak Boleslawski . In 1969 he won the French championship in Pau .

In addition to chess, his hobbies were bridge , table tennis and billiards , and he also won the French championship in bridge.
