The Jacquet River is an approximately 55 km long tributary of the Gulf of St. Lawrence in the Canadian province of New Brunswick .
River course
The Jacquet River runs in the southeast of Restigouche County in the north of the province. It forms the outflow of Tongue Lake , which is 340 m high . The Jacquet River flows mainly in an east-northeast direction. Between the river kilometers 28 and 10 is the nature reserve Jacquet River Gorge (Class II Protected Natural Area (PNA)). on the river. For the last 13 kilometers, the Jacquet River turns north and finally flows into Chaleur Bay , which forms part of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence at the Durham Center settlement .
Hydrology
The Jacquet River drains an area of 510 km². The mean discharge 3 km above the mouth is 10.8 m³ / s. The months with the highest discharge are April and May with an average of 29.6 and 42.1 m³ / s.
