Restigouche County ( French Comté de Restigouche ) is a county in the Canadian province of New Brunswick . The county was named after the Restigouche River . It covers an area of ​​8580 km². The population has been falling in recent years. In 2016 it was 30,955. The population is roughly half divided into French and English speaking.

The county is located in the far north of the province. It borders on the neighboring province of Québec to the north . The Restigouche River flows through the area in a northeastern direction. To the east, the county is bounded by the Chaleur Bay . The Monts Notre-Dame , a mountain range of the Appalachians, run through the far west of the county .

Forestry is an important economic factor.
