The Madawaska County is located in the northwest of the Canadian province of New Brunswick on the border with the state of Maine of the United States and the neighboring province of Quebec . The county's largest city is Edmundston , which is also where the county seat is located. The county has 33,422 people in an area of 3,463.05 km².
