Jade was an American girl group . Her biggest hit was the 1993 single Don't Walk Away .

Career

Tonya Kelly grew up in Chicago, where she was inspired by the music of Sarah Vaughan and Nat Cole . Joi Marshall, also from Chicago, was introduced to the Motown sound through her parents , especially the music of Diana Ross . Di Reed, who is from Houston, had experience as a gospel singer . The three women met in Los Angeles in 1991 and founded the singing group Jade in 1992, which presented a synthesis of R&B and dance floor .

With the first three singles I Wanna Love You , Don't Walk Away and One Woman , the trio conquered the international charts in 1992 and 1993 . Looking for Mr. Do Right became a chart success in the US in late 1993 . For the debut album Jade to the Max , there was a platinum award , and on BET's Listening Party Jade published (1993) a cover of the Prince -Song Do Me, Baby from the album Controversy . Jade continued her career with a long tour and appearances on the Tonight Show , The Arsenio Hall Show and Top of the Pops .

In the 1994 gold album Mind, Body & Song brought the musicians with five songs as co-authors with one and produced the a cappella - Intro ., And the closing track itself The single 5-4-3-2 (Yo ! Time Is Up) found its way into the Billboard Hot 100 in 1994, with Every Day of the Week the girl group was able to score again internationally in early 1995. A short time later, the band separated.

In 1997 there was a brief reunion . Jade released the track Keep On Risin ' , which was part of the soundtrack for the film Der Teamgeist (OT: The Sixth Man ).

Another reunion followed in 2014. The trio released a new single called Baby Luv .
