Jade Raymond (born August 28, 1975 in Montreal ) is a Canadian video game producer, known among other things for the production of the first title in the Assassin's Creed series .

biography

Raymond studied computer science at McGill University . After working for Sony and Maxis in San Francisco and New York, among others , she returned to Montreal for a job at Ubisoft .

At the Game Developer Awards 2003 Raymond received an offer for a job in the video game-related TV show The Electric Playground of the US channel G4 . She became known outside of the gaming scene through her international promotional tour for Assassin's Creed . After experiencing massive attacks on the Internet as a woman in a senior position in video game development, Raymond pulled out of the public eye for the production of Assassin's Creed II .

She founded the Ubisoft Toronto studio and headed it from 2009. In October 2014, she left Ubisoft after 10 years of employment. In an interview, she announced that she would not go public with new plans until summer 2015 at the earliest.

In July 2015, Raymond announced that she would take over the management of Motive Studios in Montreal - a subsidiary of Electronic Arts - and develop Star Wars games together with Visceral Games and game developer Amy Hennig.

She has been head of Google's gaming department since 2019.
