The hunt head is a 602.1  u m. NHN high mountain in the German low mountain range Harz on the border of the community Wieda to the community-free area Harz of the district of Göttingen in Lower Saxony .

Geographical location

The Jagdkopf is located in the southern Harz in the Harz Nature Park . It rises directly north of the village of Wieda . To the west past the mountain, the Wieda flows roughly in a north-south direction ; The state road  601 runs along the river , which runs roughly from the direction of Braunlage and Sorge to Wieda. A little south-southeast of the mountain summit, the brook in Schieferal rises as a left tributary of the Wieda , and to the north the brook flows in Schummelstal . Towards the northwest, the landscape leads over to the Stöberhai on the other side of the Wieda and to the east-northeast directly to the Wagnerskopf .
