The Jagdkopf is 603.1  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the German low mountain range Harz . It is located between Wieda and Zorge in the non-parish Harz region of the Göttingen district in Lower Saxony .

Geographical location

The Jagdkopf is located in the southern Harz in the Harz Nature Park . It rises between the villages of Wieda on the Wieda river in the west and Zorge on the Zorge river in the east. The Wieda tributary Breitenbach rises southwest of the wooded mountain , south the Zorge tributary Dörenbach and north the Zorge tributary Steigerwasser . The Bremer Klippe is located on its southwest flank (at approx.  550  m ).

A section of the Kaiserweg runs across the western flank of the Jagdkopf between the Helenenruh huts ( Schutz ), which is included as no.160 in the system of stamping points for the Harz hiking pin, in the north and Bremer Hütte ( ) in the south . About 250 m away from this hiking trail is the Bremer Klippe , which is included as no. 163 in the system of stamping points of the Harz hiking pin; the stamp box is located at the Bremer Hütte . After a short, steep ascent from the Kaiserweg , the view falls from the cliff to the village of Wieda and over to the west-southwest Ravensberg (approx.  659  m ).
