Jagga Bites

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jagga Bites was one of Baden-Wuerttemberg coming band that mainly music from the genre Reggae and Dancehall played. Since most of the members came from Stuttgart , the band saw their origins there. Most recently the band consisted of nine musicians.

Band history

The band was founded in 2004 by members Sinan Tiryaki, Markus Heinrich, Moritz Dolder and Alexander Spanic. The official date of birth is July 25th, 2004, because the band first performed under the name Kabila at the traditional Open Air Warmbronn (then still SunXplosion). However, due to the unfortunate politically chosen name Kabila , the band was renamed Jagga Bites shortly afterwards. First of all, the addition Combo (Jagga Bites Combo) was to be found in the name. In the course of time, however, the band increasingly renounced the addition and from then on only called themselves Jagga Bites.

While the band began at the beginning of their career with a classic rock line-up and only four musicians, they quickly expanded to nine musicians to date. The reggae formation Reggaeneration from Warmbronn played a major role, as some of their musicians complemented the Jagga Bites combo. So Ben "Easyman" and Oliver "OJ" joined shortly after the founding and brought many influences from the reggae generation into the band.

The band's greatest successes include winning the youngster ball contest in Stuttgart and the resulting appearance in the Newcomer TV program on hr television. Appearances at the 22nd Summerjam 2007 in Cologne and at the Chiemsee Reggae Summer 2012 as well as concerts in other European countries (Austria, Romania, Italy) followed.

In 2012, shortly after the release of their third studio album, Songs For ... , the band presented their first music video for the single Rejoice Again .

After a farewell concert on December 28, 2012, the band broke up.
