Jake Lacy (born February 14, 1985 in Greenfield , Massachusetts ) is an American actor .
life and career
Jake Lacy was born in Massachusetts, but grew up in the small town of Pittsford , Vermont . While still at school, he gained his first acting experience in the theater. He made in 2008 at the School of the Arts of the University of North Carolina graduated. He received his first major role from 2010 in the short-lived sitcom Better with You . He then played the role of employee Pete "Plop" Miller in the ninth and final season of The Office series . In the television series Girls he played the character of Fran Parker , who acts as a date for Lena Dunham's main character, for 12 episodes .
Since the romantic comedy Obvious Child from 2014, in which he appeared as partner of Jenny Slate , Lacy has increasingly focused on cinema roles. Then his career got a boost, among other things he played in Todd Haynes ' drama Carol, the friend of the leading actress Rooney Mara , whose marriage proposals are rejected. The following year he appeared in supporting roles in the political thriller The Invention of Truth and the romantic comedy How to Be Single . However, Lacy continues to take on television appearances, so he has had one of the leading roles in the sitcom I'm Dying Up Here on the US TV channel Showtime since 2017 . In 2018 he took on the role of villain in the third part of the Johnny English film series with Rowan Atkinson , Johnny English - You Only Live Three Times.
In August 2015, he married longtime girlfriend Lauren Deleo.
