Jake Owen
Jake Owen (born September 28, 1981 in Vero Beach , Florida ; real name Joshua Ryan Owen ) is an American country singer .
Career
Owen's original career aspiration was a golfer , but when a serious sports accident put him out of action for a long time, he passed the time playing guitar. This resulted in performances in student bars and a collection of self-written songs. This went so far that he finished his advanced college studies and moved to Nashville . There he met producer Jimmy Ritchey, with whom he wrote songs and who eventually helped him find a record company. In 2006 he signed with Sony / BMG and had his debut album ready shortly afterwards. Startin 'with Me made it into the top 10 of the country charts and three singles from the album made it into the singles top 20, two of which also made it into the official Hot 100 charts.
The second album Easy Does It was released in 2009. The single Don't Think I Can't Love You had already reached number 2 in the country song charts, and the album repeated this position in the album charts, both of which had its highest positions in the respective charts. The song Eight Second Ride , although not ranked that high, earned him his first gold record .
Jake Owen's most successful album to date was released in 2011. Barefoot Blue Jean rose to number one on country albums and made it into the top ten on the Billboard 200 . The gold album contained two number one hits in the country charts: Barefoot Blue Jean Night sold over two million copies and reached number 21 on the official single charts, and Alone with You was another million seller. The One That Got Away and Anywhere with You were also very successful and , like the album, each achieved gold status.
The fourth studio album Days of Gold was released two years later. It lagged well behind the success of its predecessor. Four singles were released, only two of which reached the Hot 100.
