Jakob Kriegseis (born July 24, 1885 in Pyrbaum ; † October 9, 1968 ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Jakob Kriegseis did an apprenticeship as a locksmith and worked as a locksmith after finishing elementary and advanced training school. He did military service from 1907 to 1910 and participated in the war from 1914 to 1917. 1919 to 1933 and after 1945 he was chairman of the works council at Voigt & Haeffner . In 1946 he was appointed chairman of a denazification examination committee and worked as a public plaintiff after the promulgation of the Liberation Act.

politics

Jakob Kriegseis had been a member of the trade union and the SPD since 1910. In 1918 he becomes a member of the Workers 'and Soldiers' Council. From 1926 to 1933 he was an honorary city councilor in Frankfurt am Main . In 1933 he was after the seizure of power released by the Nazis from all offices. Between 1946 and 1948 he was again a city councilor in Frankfurt.

From February 9, 1948 to November 30, 1958, he was a member of the Hessian state parliament. In 1949, Kriegseis was also a member of the 1st Federal Assembly .

Honors

Jakob Kriegseis was honored with the plaque of honor of the city of Frankfurt am Main in 1960 .
