Jakob Ludwig von Grape (born December 17, 1735 , † August 21, 1811 in Schwedt ) was a Prussian officer , district administrator in the Königsberg district and chamber president in Posen .

Life

Grape was a member of the Pomeranian noble family of Grape . His parents were the Prussian officer, chief of Garrison Regiment No. IV and heir to Carwitz , Johann Heinrich von Grape (* 1696; † after 1758) and Louise Tugendreich Amalia von Sack from the Blankenfelde house .

career

Grape joined the army in 1756 . In April 1762 he was elected district administrator of the Königsberg district and appointed as such on May 27, 1762 . His appointment is said to have been made primarily because of his services during the war . Nevertheless, he fully fulfilled the task assigned to him as district administrator. In 1770 Grape was listed as a candidate for the general directorate, but remained in the district office. In 1777 he was u. a. Proposed by Minister von Blumenthal as director of the War and Domain Chamber in Küstrin and approved after an audience with the King on July 22nd. A request for further transport from August 1781 was rejected by the king, and Grapes' renewed visit to this effect in September 1787 with reference to 31 years of service and his family situation were also initially unheard. On April 19, 1793, after having applied to Minister von Voss for the position, he moved to Posen as President of the Chamber. As early as 1794, the high president attested him the reputation of the Poles . In 1797 he was retired at the instigation of Minister von Hoym . A request for re-employment from May 1798 was not taken into account, whereupon Grape moved his residence to Schwedt in 1804.

Grape was temporarily the master of Blankenfelde and Teilig Clemptow and Blessin.

family

He was married twice, first in July 1765 to Christine Charlotte von der Osten (1737–1784) and after her death with her sister Sophie Dorothee von der Osten († 1804). Grape had six children, two of whom survived.
