Jacob protection
Jakob Schutz (born March 8, 1918 in Filisur , resident in Zurzach , since 1961 in Filisur; † September 27, 2013 ) was a Swiss politician (FDP) .
Life
Jakob Schutz, son of the gardener Johann Jakob Schutz and Christina née Schmidt, graduated from a gardening apprenticeship as well as the Zurich commercial school , subsequently took over his parents' business and expanded it into a garden and sports field construction center. In his nursery in Filisur he set up a mail order business for plants and seeds for high altitudes.
Political career
Protection - he joined the FDP - officiated from 1952 to 1969 as mayor of Filisur. In 1961 he was elected to the Grisons Grand Council and in 1969 to the Grisons Government Council. There he headed the Justice and Police Department until he left in 1977 and was a promoter of the Splügenbahn project. At the federal level, he represented his canton in the National Council from 1975 to 1979 .
Jakob Schutz chaired the Graubünden Trade Association from 1961 to 1969, the Graubünden Tourist Office from 1980 to 1987, the Graubünden House Owners Association from 1982 to 1988 and the Board of Directors of the Furka-Oberalp Railway from 1985 to 1989 .
