Jakob Weidendorfer

Jakob Weidendorfer (born March 11, 1914 in Unsernherrn ; † April 20, 1998 in Eichstätt ) was a German clergyman, cathedral capitular and Caritas director of the diocese of Eichstätt .

Life

He attended the humanistic grammar school in Eichstätt, where he graduated from high school in 1934. He then studied philosophy and theology at the Episcopal Philosophical-Theological University of Eichstätt . On June 29, 1939, he was ordained a priest in Eichstätt and on July 16, 1939, he became an assistant priest in Mitteleschenbach . On November 16, 1939, he was appointed parish provisional . From January 1, 1940 he was prefect at the Canisiuskonvikt in Ingolstadt. On June 1, 1941, he became the second cooperator of the local parish of St. Joseph . From December 1, 1946, he worked as a sub-rain at the Episcopal Seminary Collegium Willibaldinum . On September 1, 1950, he became director of the Episcopal Boys' Seminary in Eichstätt and also taught Catholic religious studies at the Eichstätt Humanistic Gymnasium.

On September 1, 1961, he was appointed cathedral vicar and worked as Caritas Director of the Diocese of Eichstätt for 25 years until 1986. On December 1, 1967, he was appointed Cathedral Chapter and instituted on December 4, 1967. He was also the secretary of the Eichstätter cathedral chapter. He retired on March 31, 1986.

In 1979 he received the Bavarian Order of Merit and the Eichstätter Citizen Medal . In addition, he was honored with the gold medal of honor and the silver bread plate of the German Caritas Association . The Rhenish-Westphalian Order of Malta awarded him the Magistralkaplan Cross and the Maltese Auxiliary Service with the Golden Merit Medal.

In December 1947 he joined the CV connection between Aureata and Eichstätt and in 1958 helped found the KDStV Alcimonia Eichstätt.
