Jakob and Adele was a successful German TV series of the ZDF , which was produced between 1981 and 1989th The series by screenwriter Herbert Reinecker emerged from the episode film The Old Coming, in which the actors Carl-Heinz Schroth and Edith Heerdegen played two senior citizens , from which the television series Jakob and Adele was eventually developed. Edith Heerdegen was originally supposed to take on the role of Adele , but the actress died before the series could be completed. After Heerdegen's death, Brigitte Horney was offered the female lead.

The producers had originally planned another season for autumn 1988, but this could no longer be carried out due to Horney's untimely death. After Brigitte Horney's death in July 1988, one last episode was shot, only with Carl-Heinz Schroth as Jakob. Schroth died a year after her.

action

Jakob and Adele get to know each other by chance as senior citizens and decide to start all over again when they are old and to show those around them that life is not over at over 65. The main venue for the series was Berlin . The episode House with Light Windows was filmed in Mallorca , Jakob and Adele played as private detectives in Munich . The episode Journey to Tierra del Fuego was filmed at Lake Orta - where Carl-Heinz Schroth lived .
